Air monitoring applications! We cover the tactical aspects of air monitoring and atmospheric hazard assessment at hazardous materials incidents. Live demonstrations, hands-on activities, and exercises using a variety of air monitoring equipment including pH paper, oxidizer paper, halogen detectors, multi-gas instruments, PIDs, and FTIR gas/vapor spectrometers drive this class. Students will get hands-on experience measuring over three dozen different gas and vapor samples during the week.

The class covers:
Order of Air Monitoring
Radiation Detection
Corrosive Atmosphere Detection
Air Monitoring Using Papers
Electrochemical Sensors
Photoionization Detectors (PID)
Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS)
WMD Detection
AIR MONITORING
